Monitoring

What we monitor

Legislation and policy

We track proposed, current, and changing laws and policies at local, Welsh, and UK levels that impact LGBTI+ communities.

Media and discourse

We monitor how LGBTI+ issues are represented in the media and public debate, identifying harmful narratives as well as positive shifts.

Community safety

We gather information on reported hate incidents and broader safety concerns affecting LGBTI+ individuals and communities.

Human rights aren't up for debate

Rights on paper mean nothing without accountability in practice. Cwiar exists to bridge the gap between policy and reality. We are a grassroots-funded, fiercely independent body that observes how public institutions treat our community.

From the Senedd to local councils, from police forces to health boards – we are watching, we are documenting, and we are demanding better.
